Mrs Nisha Patel-Nasri, 29, a special constable, was stabbed outside her home in Wembley, north-west London, on 11 May 2006 and died from a single stab wound to the groin. The policewoman's husband, Mr Fadi Nasri, 34, is accused by the Crown of organising the killing. An Old Bailey jury has been told that her husband a limousine hire boss, hired Rodger Leslie to organise her murder.
Mr Nasri allegedly arranged the killing because he was having an affair with a Lithuanian prostitute and needed his wife's £350,000 life insurance policy to pay off debts. Mr Leslie has denied arranging for two men, Tony Emmanuel and Jason Jones, to kill her. Leslie has admitted at his trial to repeatedly lying during police interviews, and that he had also lied when he told the police he was not involved in a drug deal on the night of the murder.
Leslie claimed he arranged with Mr Nasri for one of his "runners" to pick up 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, worth £41,000, from the boot of a Hummer limousine parked outside Mr Nasri's home on the night of 11 May. The court heard that mobile phone records showed Mr Leslie exchanging calls with Mr Nasri on the night of the murder, and also with Mr Emmanuel's phone. Mr Nasri denies any involvement in murder or drug dealing and said he had been calling Mr Leslie to discuss a limousine booking.
